Wed. Micronesia-Polynesia. Tahiti [Ta'aroa was inside the Rumia egg; went out, picked up the upper part of the shell, making it into the sky; at first the sky was close to the ground; the Earth and sky were held by the Great Octopus, his four tentacles supported them on four sides of the world; T. created Atea (Space), the goddess of heaven; created the first pair, Tumu-nui (The Great Foundation) and his wife Paparaharaha (Rock Base); from Papa-tuoi ("Thin Earth") A. gave birth to Sky Builders, who built 10 celestial layers; at the highest point, god Tane; from rua-tupua-nui ("The Source of Great Power") A. gave birth to all heavenly bodies; her third husband Fa'a-Hotu ("Making Fertile"); she changed sex with him, they gave birth to Ru; he raised the Sky, but not enough; then Maui cut off the octopus tentacles that held the world, they fell into the sea, turned into Australia Islands; called God Tanya from heaven; he fixed holes in the sky, raised it to its current height]: Henry 1928:336-344 (retelling in Makemson 1941:50-51, 68-69).

Tibet is the Northeast of India. Tibetans [As a result of the struggle between the gods of water and fire, the sky tilted, the sky began to flow down, and an evil dragon appeared. Nuiva killed the dragon and first covered the sky with clay, but it continued to leak; she backed it up with logs, but they were washed away. She complained to a big shrimp, which gave her four legs; two long Nuiva supported the sky to the east, two short ones to the west, so the sun rolls west. Then she patched the sky with five-colored stones found in the sea]: Vol. 40:12-13 (full text 11-13).

China - Korea. Ancient China [the spirit of water Gungong was defeated by his father, the spirit of fire Zhuong; wanting to commit suicide, G. beats his head against Western Mount Buzhou, which served as a support for the sky; the top of the mountain breaks off, the sky leans to the west; part of the sky has fallen off, a world fire and a flood have begun; predatory animals and birds attacked people; Nuiva melted stones of five colors, closed a hole in the sky; this explains the difference in the shades of the sky; N. cut off four legs from the turtle, used them as supports under the sky; the sky remained leaning to the west, and the stars roll to the other side; the land slanted to the east, rivers flow there]: Yuan Ke 1987, ch. 2:51-52; Chinese (Shaanxi, Wu. Lintong) [Once in ancient times, there was a terrible rumble and a piece broke off from the sky, the sun and moon lost their radiance, and the world became dark. One goddess decided to help people by patching the sky with molten stones, and to do this, she descended from the Sky Palace into the human world. Two daughters went after her and looked for red, yellow, blue, white and black stones in the rivers, collected them in Lintong and began to melt them. They melted them for forty-nine days, and the stones turned into gruel, from which they sculpted flat stone cakes that began to stick to the sky. The youngest daughter turned into a flying horse and seated her mother and sister, so the sky was patched up and the same as before. They were very happy, lay down to rest and fell asleep, and when they woke up, they saw that everything around them was white and white. It turned out that there was a crack in the sky, through which snow fell. They made snowballs, got back on the flying horse, flew to a crack in the sky, and began throwing snowballs at it. After doing their job, they went back to earth and fell asleep again. They were awakened by an unusual sound, and when they opened their eyes, they saw a flood raging around them. It turned out that a fallen piece of sky destroyed the end of the earth, and groundwater poured out of the hole, and a black dragon came out and began to do mischief. The goddess and her daughters began to fight the dragon, rose from the water to heaven, descended into the water from the sky, called for help from the heavenly army, and then they defeated the dragon. After that, the flying horse took the survivors to high places and found food for them. The goddess and daughters threw the ash left from the melting stones into the hole in the ground, and when it was over, they melted the stones again, made flat cakes out of them, flew up to the hole on a magic horse, and began to fill the gap with them. However, there were not enough tortillas again, and the water kept coming. Then the older sister lay down on the ground, turned into a long dam and blocked the way for the water. The youngest decided that the eldest was tired and lay down to rest, so she lay down next to her and fell asleep right away, and the goddess decided not to wake her up. Waking up, the younger sister, who kept the appearance of a horse, saw how beautiful the world around her had become and decided not to return to heaven. It remained lying on the ground and after a long time turned into a mountain that people called Lishan ("Black Mountain"; the hieroglyph consists of two elements - "horse" and "beautiful"). The goddess patched the sky and earth, saved people, so people called her "the mother of Mount Lishan", and then built Mother's Temple in her honor, where she was erected a golden statue. It is still a custom in villages near Mount Lishan: every year on the twentieth day of the first lunar month, everyone eats steamed pancakes. After preparing them, one is thrown on the roof and the other on the ground, and they call it "patting heaven and earth"]: Zhou Yang et al. 1996, No. 5:7-8; Chinese (Gansu, St. Tianshui, Beidao District) [Since Nuiwa created humans, the world has been filled with songs and laughter. Nuiva and her children picked fruit from trees, caught fish and shrimp in rivers, and their lives were completely carefree. One day, Nuiva and her children were swimming in the river, when suddenly black clouds hit and a terrible downpour began, and Nuiva told the children to hide. Suddenly, a terrible black cave appeared in the sky and began to grow. The sky fell, the earth split, and the children went crazy with horror. It continued to rain nonstop, and the land began to flood. Nuiva started running around looking for things to patch the sky with. She ran around mountains, forests and steppes, ran all over the land, and finally found five large colorful stones on the seashore. She picked them up and filled the hole in the sky with them. The black cave began to shrink gradually, and eventually a small hole remained, through which the rain continued to flow, but there was nothing to fill it with. Then Nuiva filled this hole with her body, and so she patched up the sky. This is how the sky was repaired and humanity was saved, but Nuiwa could no longer return to earth]: Zhou Yang et al. 2001, No. 6:6-7; Chinese (Liaoning; g. Fushun, Wanhua District, 44-year-old woman, primary education) [Mother Nuiwa collected a lot of stones, there was also a green building stone, repairing the sky by inserting stones into the walls; it remains to repair the northern one side, but there was no suitable stone, and she put in a piece of ice; on the ground, the old people saw this piece and thought that the ice would not withstand the streams from the sky and would fall, people would be crushed; people were desperate and became to work poorly; upon learning of this, the Jade Emperor and Tathagata pointed it out to N.; she blew blue air and finished repairing the sky; it is cold on the north side because a piece of ice is stuck in there; after the sky was repaired, there was nowhere to place the remaining two stones; N. went to Mount Huago and left them there; Mother Sivanmu ("mistress of the West") once stayed at these stones; the stones absorbed the rays the sun and the glitter of the moon split and a stone monkey jumped out of the two halves; it was the one who was named Sun Wukun (Monkey King)]: Liaoning 1994, No. 1:3; Chinese (Jilin, Changchun City, informant from u. Yitong) [Gungong quarreled with Zhuzhong, but could not defeat him and hit Mount Buzhou with his head; the ground tilted to SE, and sea waters rushed there; the sky collapsed in the northwest, where it formed a big hole and small holes so that even the stars stopped standing in place and began to fall there; Nuiva built a huge furnace, melted five-color stones, fused them together and filled them they had a hole in the sky; however, the hole in the NW was too big and the stars continued to fall there; N. ran to Mount Kunlun, broke off several pieces of ice there, began to cover the sky in the NW; the hole filled , the stars stopped falling there, N. went again to melt five-color stones; the sky in the NW was repaired, but pieces of ice are still there; every time the wind blows NW, it brings cold with it; because the sky is NW not tightly imported, then some star, no, no, let it fall through holes between pieces of ice and five-colored stones; these are meteors]: Zhou Yang et al. 1992, No. 1:1; Chinese (Shanxi, w. Pingding) [Lord Yan-di died, his descendants Gong-gong and Chuan-xu began to fight for power; Gong was defeated, hit his head against Mount Buzhou, knocking over the pillars supporting the sky; the sky collapsed in the NW, the sun and moon stopped shining, the rivers overflowed, the Jade Lord sent Nuiwu to earth to patch the sky with molten stones; N. smelted two mountains of stones; to make the supports of the sky, went to the sea ; at this time, the jug she had forgotten continued to burn, broke, half fell into the gorges; N. defeated the sea turtle, cut off its paws, made the supports of the sky, patched it up with five-colored stones, but not one it was enough, because when the jug burst, one stone flew off; N. sighed, exhaled blue air, so the sky was blue]: Zhou Yang et al. 1999, No. 2:4-5; Chinese (Shanxi, w. Jiaocheng) [the sky was low, trembling, thunder and lightning flashed all the time; one day part of the sky fell, smoke rose, stones flew; at this time, a phoenix flew from the east, on which a woman was sitting with with a fly chase in her hands; it was Nuiva who came to help patch the sky; ordered to drag stones and brushwood, a bunch of stones formed; Nuiva blew, the flame broke out, the stones melted; N. made a cauldron out of clay, burned it, poured this mass into it, put a cauldron on the phoenix's head and told him to patch the sky; the phoenix soared up and stuck its head into a hole in the sky; the sky was intact again, but the phoenix's head remained inside and the body fell and turned into a mountain; the remaining mass became glass, and the village of Tancun became the center of glass production;; on the day when N. patched the sky, they made it a glass festival]: Zhou Yang et al. 1999, No. 3:6; Chinese (Hebei, Wu. Funing, 1986) [old Heaven's father had an eldest son, Shennong, a younger son, Fuxi, a daughter of Nuiwa; when they grew up, Heaven's father sent them to earth; S. created flowers, grass and trees there, F. - birds and animals, N. sculpted human figures, left them to dry; the waters of the Heavenly River often overflowed and spilled in the form of rain; N. did not have time to hide all the figures from the rain; this is how people with physical disabilities appeared - "soaked in the rain"; to prevent the rain from wetting the clay people again, N. went to heaven to repair it; every day she repaired the sky with stones; at this time she had been pregnant; respected (Taishan) Laozi was in her womb; one day for the gods equals one year for humans; L. was not yet born, but he was over 1000 years old; G. was afraid to give birth, so every time answered her son in the womb that she had not yet finished repairing the sky; tired of waiting, L. beat N. three ribs, making his way out; at this time N. had finished repairing three sides of the sky, and in the northwest she had to finish the edge, but she had to lie down to give birth; fearing that the clay figures would suffer from the rain and her mother would become angry, L. inserted a piece of ice into the hole in the NW of the sky; the piece was adjacent loosely, so L. ran away to the Jade Emperor, where he made him an official; until now, when clouds are drawn into the sky in the NW, it immediately rains, and when the wind blows NW, it gets sharply colder; seeing that she could not do her job, N. decided that people should live in pairs and give birth to children themselves; she no longer had to make clay people; since then there have been women and men; due to the fact that N. made people out of clay, then if you rub your skin, you can wipe off some dirt]: Bai Gengsheng 2007a: 5-6; Chinese (Henan) [Pan-gu separated heaven and earth and moved them apart for 18 thousands of years. His son Taishan Lao-Jun (=Lao Tzu) sat in his mother's womb for 80 years, asking him if the sky was ready. In the end, she lied to him, he ate her three ribs and got outside, saw that the sky was not ready, and there was a hole in the northwest. He sealed the hole with a piece of ice, so the wind coming from the northwest is cold. The piece of ice looked different from the rest of the sky, it looked ugly, and then Taishan Lao-Jun took off his blue robe and hung it on the sky, which turned evenly blue. The eight trigrams on the robe turned into the sun and moon, and the patterns turned into constellations]: Vol. 24:16-17; Chinese (Henan, W. Shenqiu) [there was a mountain on the bank of the Yellow River, a cave in it, and people lived in the cave, including Brother Fuxi and Sister Nuiwa. They went to the mountains for berries and firewood and grazed cows and sheep. One day, a large turtle rose from the depths of the Yellow River and turned into an old man who came ashore. Fusi and Nuiva wanted to run away, but the old man stopped them and said that the sky would soon collapse, the earth would crack and a flood would begin. It can only save two people. To do this, Fusi and Nuiva must bring him a cake every day and throw him into the water, and when they have 999 cakes, let them wait on the beach. Fuxi When there were 999 cakes, the ground shook, the sky turned dark, rained, and a flood occurred. An old man appeared, turned into a turtle, opened his mouth and told F. and N. to go inside, sit there for three years and eat bread. They lived in the turtle's belly for two years, 11 months, and 28 days; Nuiva asked the turtle to release them. She let me go outside. Brother and sister went up the mountain. At this time, the flood waters were flowing south and east, and there were still cracks and holes in the sky. Nuiva collected five-colored stones, stood on Fusi's shoulders and stoned holes in the sky, and then sewed up the cracks with a bone needle. This is how the stars and the Milky Way appeared. In the northeast, the sky wasn't strong enough, but Nuiva didn't notice it, so now as soon as the wind starts blowing from the northeast, it gets cold. After repairing the sky, Nuiva and his brother lived in a cave. The mountain in which this cave was located was named the Secret Turtle Mountain, and the cave itself was named the Secret Turtle Cave (Xuan-yuan). This turtle was also called the Secret Warrior (Xuan-wu). They later became known as Mount Xuan-Yuan and Xuan-Yuan (Yellow Emperor) Cave. Brother and sister grew up, Nuiva got married. Fusi refused, but Nuiva convinced him that there were no other people left and their marriage would meet heaven's wishes. After getting married, they began sculpting people out of yellow clay, teaching them fishing, hunting and cattle breeding. After F. and N. died, yellow clay men elected the Yellow Emperor as the new leader. He was called the Yellow Emperor of the Secret Turtle (Xuan-yuan), that is, the Yellow Emperor Xuanyuan. Yellow clay people began to call F. and N. The ancestor of people and the Innermost Mother and say that they themselves come from the Innermost Warrior. Later, the Lord of Heaven found out that the turtle had saved people, and also gave Fuxi eight trigrams and helped Yu calm the flood. For this, he made her a heavenly spirit named the True Warlike Emperor, commanding the North to rule. This is the current Secret Warrior star (Xuanwu). Therefore, in temples, an image of a turtle is placed next to the statue of the True Warlike Emperor]: Zhou Yang et al. 2001b, No. 7:9-10; Chinese (Henan, wu. Anyang) [In ancient times, the sky stood on five pillars, each holding its own turtle. One day, the water in the seas dried up, the turtles in the four corners were left without water, became angry, began to spin, and the pillars supporting the sky collapsed. Nuiva sent a heavenly spirit to cut off these turtles' legs and prop up the sky with them. However, holes remained in the sky, and through them black mist descended from the sky, causing people to die. Nuiva and his heavenly army used three hundred and sixty methods, patched the sky for three hundred and sixty years, but never finished. Eventually, the spirit of Venus suggested taking stones from Venus, Jupiter, Mercury, Mars, and Saturn, melting them and patching the sky with them. Nuiva went to the center, where the sky did not collapse, made a fire there, melted the stones and began to patch the sky with them. Because there were not enough five-color stones, a hole remained in the northwest corner, and Nuiva covered it with a piece of ice, so the northwest wind is cold and sometimes brings black clouds and hail with it. Nuiva finished patching up the sky, was very tired and began to look for a place to relax. She didn't like it anywhere, and as a result, she settled in a place where she melted five-colored stones. The slag left after Nuiva melted the stones turned into a mountain that kept warm. It was reaching the sky, and the Jade Lord sent thirteen dragons to cool it down. The dragons were icy, and when they got down to the mountain, it immediately cooled down. Even in the hottest summer, this place is cool, so people nicknamed it "Cool Mountain" (Qingliangshan)]: Zhou Yang et al. 2001b, No. 10:17-18; Chinese (Henan, Wu. Qixian) [It is said that Qixian is the center of heaven and earth, and in ancient times it was called the Middle Sky Village (Zhongtian). The village of the Middle Sky was located at the top of a mountain in the Middle Sky, and was only three tsunyas away from the sky. At that time, people were only seven to eight tsunis in height, and they did not touch the sky even when they climbed to the top of the Middle Sky Mountain. But the head of a Middle Sky village had four children, three Zhang each, who could go to heaven at any time. The elder's eldest son was Gungong, the second was Zhurong, the third was Qiren ("Irritating"), and there was also a beautiful daughter named Nuiwa. Gungun had red hair, a green face, fangs sticking out, looked very scary, and could spit water from his mouth, so everyone called him the "god of water." Zhuzhong had a big head and claws, his face was all red, and he could spit fire from his mouth, so he was called the "god of fire." Qiren and Nuiwa, on the other hand, were very beautiful and talented. The children also had different characters: Gungong and Zhuzhong were quick-tempered, Qiren was cowardly, and Nuiwa was very kind, intelligent and quick-witted. Gungun and Zhurong once quarreled over who would get the swan egg, fought for many days, but neither could win. Gungun spit water, and the flood flooded the ground, Zhuzhong spit fire, and the flame covered the sky. Many days later, Zhurong's exhaled fire turned the sky red hot and the water on the ground dried up. Gungun realized that things were bad and ran headlong west. Zhurong chased him, and Gungong inadvertently crashed into Mount Buzhou, which supported the sky, on which a Western Sky village stood, and it crashed. As a result, the western sky collapsed. The flood immediately began, and stones rolled. As a result, there were many rocks in the west that made mountains, and the flood waters flowed east to form the sea. When the sky fell, the cowardly Qiren went crazy with fear, stretched out his neck, widened his eyes, and started running along the mountain of the Middle Sky, shouting: "The sky has fallen! The sky has fallen!" Nuiva saw all this and was upset: how can people live? She walked around the mountains and collected several five-colored stones, melted them, and patched a hole in the western sky with them. Despite her fatigue, she returned to the Middle Sky Mountain and talked to Qiren for a long time, barely reviving him. A few quiet days passed and then the war between the Yellow Lord and Chi-yu began. The sky immediately turned dark, and Qiren, once again mad with fear, began to run from side to side, shouting: "The sky has fallen! The sky has fallen!" At some point, the Mid-Sky village was renamed Qixian. People got taller, and Qiren was still running around shouting, "The sky has fallen! The sky has fallen!" , which annoyed people a lot. As a result, they blamed Qiren for "worrying from scratch that the sky is falling" (a reference to a well-known story from Chuang Tzu - AT). One day, Qiren, like a blind man, crashed into the royal palace and Sky Observation Tower and destroyed them. The king got angry, took out his sword and cut it to pieces. It is said that the high mountain west of Qixian is Qiren's transformed remains. Note: The story of "Nuiwa patches the sky" is primarily common in the Wangushan Mountain area near Jiyuan City, Sidugang Hills in Sihua County ("Nuiwa City"), as well as in the Shangqiu and Qixian areas, and the second is in Anyang, Xunxiang, Xinzheng, etc. The plot of the story is generally similar. The method of repairing the sky is mainly using molten five-color stones, but sometimes it is covered with an ice block, covered with cloth or sewn with a needle and thread. In addition to Mount Qingliangshan mentioned above, traces of Niuwei's sky repair are found in several places in Henan Territory. Firstly, it is a layer of red-coated stones on Mount Wangushan near Jiyuan City; secondly, three Sidugang Hills in Sihua County, which locals say are ash left after melting the Nuwei stones; thirdly, it is a huge stone on Mount Fuhushan in Xunxian County, which locals call "mountain on the mountain" and which is said that when Nuiwa melted stones, she used 360 of them, and this one, because it was neither round nor square, threw it away. Due to its unusual nature, a grotto with 999 Buddha sculptures was carved into it during the Tang era and became known as the "Cave of a Thousand Buddhas"]: Zhou Yang et al. 2001b, No. 10a: 18-19; Chinese ( Sichuan): Zhou Yang et al. 1998, No. 4 (wu. Baxian) [Gungong fought for supreme rule with Yellow Lord Zhuanxu's grandson, was defeated, angry, and hit Mount Buzhou with all nine heads, knocking it over; this mountain was one of four pillars of heaven and supported the sky in the west; when it capsized, the sky became covered with holes and tilted to the west; the waters of the Heavenly River began to flow through the holes and the flood began; people and the animals began to flee to the high mountains; Mother Nuiva saw this in the sky and decided to patch the sky; went to the East Sea and caught a huge turtle there, cut off its leg, and supported the sky in the west with it; collected colored stones in all parts of the world, borrowed Lao Jun's Furnace of Eight Trigrams, melted the stones 49 days to liquid, and patched the sky with them; then it became bright, even more beautiful, than before], 4 (y. Guanghan) [the evil Gungun killed many people, he had a horn growth on his head; the more people he killed, the bigger the growth became; when he finished killing people, the growth became tall, as big and heavy as a mountain, began to press down Gungun; he became angry and hit Mount Buzhou, which served as a pillar of heaven; the mountain collapsed, the ground shook, and large and small holes through which the waters of the heavenly river flowed to the ground; Nuiva realized that all living things on earth would die in the waters of the flood, collected stones and filled large holes with them, and filled them with small stones small; stars are small stones that Nuiva used to patch the sky; after a long time, the stones decayed, loose and began to fall down; people say it's the stars defecate], 5 [after Nuiva melted the five-colored stones and patched the sky with them, she saw that it was still wobbling, afraid that it would collapse again, found a giant turtle, cut off its paws and supported the sky with them; her paws the turtles were of varying lengths, the sky and the earth warped; the leg that supported the sky to the NW was shorter, and people can still see that the sky was tilted northwest]: 25, 26, 26; Chinese (Sichuan, city Deyang) [After Pangu separated heaven from earth, Mother Nuiva created humans, and so life appeared on earth. But soon, the god of water Gungong began to fight with the god of fire Zhuzhong, lost, hit his head against the northwestern pillar of heaven - Mount Buzhou, the ground squinted, the sky tilted, and the flood began. N. saw how people were suffering and covered the sky with five-colored stones. With effort, her face turned yellow and her body became thin, and she lost her former majestic appearance. People were always hoping for her help, constantly looking at the sky, so their eyes hurt. Then they started screaming: Mom! Mom! Where are you? Save us! N. finished patching the sky, heard them screaming and went down to them. She saw that people's eyes were red and swollen, unable to open or see anything, and even when she stood next to them, they kept calling her. She cried bitterly and said: Children, I'm here! But they didn't recognize her, and then she said she was their mother, but they didn't believe her. N. wept bitterly, covering her face with her hands, ran them over the eyes of one of the people, his illness immediately went away, he saw the light, looked at her tired face and her kind eyes, and finally recognized her. Thus, people's eyes were healed thanks to N.'s tears, but she herself fell from fatigue, her limbs turned into mountain ranges, rivers and lakes, and her body turned into sky, earth and stars. As for the waters that flow continuously in rivers, these are the tears of N.]: Zhou Yang et al. 1998b, No. 33:56-57; Chinese (Jiangsu): Zhou Yang et al. 1998, No. 3 (y. Hai'an) [many have heard that Mother Nuiwa patched the sky with molten stones; in fact, she melted ice and patched the sky not only in the northwest; when Pangu separated the sky from the ground, there were no pieces it was enough in the northwest and southeast; N. at first saw only a part of the sky from the NW and said: "Wrong! If there are holes in the sky, it could collapse. How will the people live then?" She came up with the idea of melting ice; ice is better than stones: when the sun shines on it, it shimmers in different colors; Matushka N. melted the five-color ice and patched the sky in the NW with it, and it became the same as everywhere; after that, Matushka N. turned around and saw that a piece of sky was also missing in SE; she had a kerchief on her head and patched the sky in the southeast with it; so the wind was cold and SE was warm: the sky the NW is made of ice, and from there it blows cold; the sky in SE is from Mother N.'s kerchief, and she keeps her warm and perspiration], 3 (y.
