Eastern Siberia. Northwestern Yakuts [all storytellers agree that there used to be no land; then Loon, flying above the water, dived, pulled out several grains of earth in its beak; they created the earth from them ; the most common story is that Gagar was sent by Ayy-Toyon (the White Master, the Supreme Deity) to get the land; after several unsuccessful attempts, Gagar brought him a sand spool in his beak or the silt from which he created the earth; Ayy-Toyon (AT), his antipode Allaraa-Ogonnyor (lower old man; AO) and Ilya the Prophet, take part in one of the stories about the creation of the earth, and in some versions of Christ and Hara Suor (black raven); usually these versions describe a dispute between AT and AO, the latter refuses to participate in the creation, and only after all good forces have been used, AT is forcing its older brother, an evil but less powerful AO, to get a handful of land; according to these reports, AO dived into the water in the form of a loon and delivered AT some land in its beak]: Gurvich 197:191-192; Western Yakuts (Turukhansky Krai) [the mother of God created a white-nosed loon and a long-nosed merganser (i.e. duck), sent them to the bottom under the ground; The merganser was the first to emerge, gave the land that had been brought; then the loon, which, although she had land in her beak, said that it had not reached the bottom; the mother of God cursed the loon, saying that she had given it a "holy name" and she hoped for her, but she did not live up to expectations; she condemned the loon to live on the water and eat rubbish; the merganser was given agility; then the Mother of God made two men and a woman out of sand]: Tretyakov 1871: 421 (quoted in Napolsky 1991:151 with reference to Tretyakov 1871:207); Western and North-Western Yakuts (Vilyuisky Districts and Ugulyatsky Nasleg of the Olenek District) [Allaraa-Ogonnor dived into water below the ground, but took out only a few grains that were stuck under his fingernails; when he emerged, he fell and lost consciousness; at this time Ayyy-Toyon stole these grains of land from him; when Allaraa- Ogonñor woke up and dived into the water again, Ayyy-toyon made earth out of them; rising again from the water with the earth in his hand, Allaraa-Ogonñor was convinced that he had been ahead of him, with annoyance threw his handful of land on land that had already been created; this formed mountains]: Gurvich 1977:192; central (?) Yakuts (no place of recording) [the world consisted of water; God (B.) claimed that the devil (D.) would not be able to reach from the bottom of the sea; D. decided to go down to defeat B. in arguing; three years later he emerged, but saw that the land he had taken from the bottom in both fists was washed away by water; B. noticed that D. had a grain of land under one claw, which he had stolen unnoticed; B. became to mock D. that he could not reach the promised land; D. dived again; taking advantage of this time, B. created a bed-sized land from the stolen grain, lay down on it to rest and fell asleep; when D. he emerged from the water and saw B.'s prank, he gave out a terrible scream, which crumbled in all directions the earth he had taken in his mouth from the bottom of the sea; it formed mountains, irregularities, and generally unsuitable for humans places; then D. sent a bunch of his servants, and everyone together began to pull the land on which B. lay with their iron claws in order to sink it; instead, the land stretched in all directions and formed the present earth; God began to create animals and plants. The devil, imitating him, also began to do such things. God got everything that was useful to man, and the devil had everything that was harmful or useless. When God created everything on earth and man, the devil created fish and blasphemed God's creation by saying that they could not live and stay in the water element. From this blasphemy, God justified himself by the fact that fish cannot live in the air. Realizing that people and animals cannot live without water, God blessed water and fish, so it became possible for humans to eat fish]: Kulakovsky 1979:14-15; northeastern (Verkhoyan) Yakuts [ Christ sends Satan to the bottom, S. dives unsuccessfully twice, the sand in his hand is washed with water; the third time, turning into a swallow, brings earth in his beak; H. creates land; S. hid part land in his mouth; H. hit him on the neck, the silt fell asleep, mountains formed]: Seroshevsky 1896:653; Western Evenks (Podkamenno-Tunguska, Baikit District, Chavida River, Western 1923) [Amaka made water, let the birds go; told Gagara to dive, she took out the sand, but did not give it to A., wanted to make the land herself; then A. sent Gogol, who brought sand, gave it to A.; A. made the land, punished Gagar, pulling her legs out of her stomach and sticking them to her tail so that she could not walk on the ground; he decorated Gogol's head with a long feather]: Osharov 1936a: 15 (=1936b, No. 11:279-280); Western Evenks (Cyrene) [in Two brothers lived in the upper world; the elder told the duck to dive to the bottom of Lake Baikal, get sand; the youngest put a leaf on the sea, the ground on it; the wind crumpled the leaf, mountains turned out; the youngest made a dog and the man, covered him with a strong shell, told the Dog not to give his older brother the keys to the barn where the man was; the elder promised to make the dog a warm skin, received a key from it, ripped off the man's shell, left only on his nails; for this, the youngest left the dog speechless]: Pinegina, Konenkin 1952:49-50; Sym Evenks [at first there was water and two brothers; younger Action made the loon dive and get it from the bottom of the earth; Loon could not do this, for which E. broke her legs (that's why all loons don't walk well); E. Etneut was born not there, but in a Koryak family- reindeer herders (according to some sources in 1928, according to others in 1929) who lived in the upper reaches of Achaivayama) [First was Yga. They had close people - Cheung (Kuthinyaku's father) and Tonga (Kutkinyaku's mother). And so they gave birth. Ygyn father, Yga mother. And so Yga gave birth, Anotyykinav gave birth to a queen, Anoytyykinav gave birth to the sun king, then Anotykinav Vulhi (night) gave birth. Cheung Tonga gave birth to Kuthinyaka, a boy named Kuthinyaku. Then she gave birth to Mitchgeune Queen. This is his Kuthinyaku sister. And after that, when their children grew up and now they decided to marry. This is how they got married. Ingin has a daughter named Mitta for Kuthinyaka. And Mitchgeune (Kuthinyaku's sister) married the sun. And so they gave birth. Mitchgeune gave birth to stars and the moon. And Father Sun ordered his children to look down, watch what was happening below, everything below is origin, what and what they see, write down, note. Here it is. But Kuthinyaku is their deputy, Ygyn's chief and chief in the Sun, is like his deputy. Chief Ygyn, and he has the Sun's assistants and the chief Sun, is like a deputy. Chief Eugin, and his assistants are Sun and Kuthinyaku. So Kuthinyaku Mitta gave birth to Ememkut, then Dinnyanav gave birth, then Kichimanav gave birth, then Chanyaenav gave birth, then Yvyan gave birth - the last was a boy, so glorious grew up Kuthinyaku's son. Here it is. Then they live, live and live. Then Kuthinyaku goes down. And there was only one sea below, not the sea, but liquid and damp. And a huge, huge forest grew from under the bottom. So Kuthinyaku decided to make animals, insects and birds of all kinds, both small and large. And now they don't have a place to live. This was a primitive forest, a huge forest. While they began to live in trees and in the forest, they had no place to live. They lived, lived and lived in the forest. Then the Sun King and his wife dabbled. They laughed, dabbled, and accidentally the Sun Tsar dropped Mitchgyne's wife (this is fire) down to the bottom of the liquid. And my husband wanted to raise a fire for his wife, but she refused: "I don't need to get up, I feel good here, at the very bottom: then the bottom will be the land, they will grow it on it." And now I stayed at the bottom of the sea (this liquid). And they lived and lived. And the sun said to his wife, "Let me pick you up, or I'm alone back and forth, I'm bored." "No, I don't want to. And you take your sister here Vulha (night), and Woolha's assistant will be with you." And the husband agreed to the Sun King. And then Kuthinyaku says to Mitty (this is her sister by the sun): "Mitty, oh, I'm tired of living in the woods. We need to restructure." Mitty says, "Where is your advisor, the Sun King? Go and go see him. And he'll tell you how to move forward." And Kuthinyaku went to the sun and asked the Sun King, "Why have you come? Why did you come here?" - "But I came here to consult on how we can continue to live. I'm tired of living in the woods. How do we live?" The Sun King says to him: "And you gather your own. Who is brave among them, let him go to the bottom of the sea. There is land there, let whoever can go there bring it." When Kuthinyaku returned, all the animals, birds and insects gathered and began to advise on how to move forward. Kuthinyaku said, "Whoever is brave, let him go to the bottom of the liquid sea." They are silent, they are silent, no one answered. And the crow says, "Who else is going to go down there? Let the whale go. It's big." And now everyone agreed and that's right. The whale is in the middle and is trying to dive down to the bottom of the earth. And no way. It's just circling. It's big, couldn't go down there. I wanted to dive and didn't dive. So since then, he has had a hole at the top, and he lets air out through it. And here we go. And no one could dive: "Oh, I'm tired, tired, I can't, I'm tired." And he sat down and breathes and breathes, tired breathes. Everyone is silent, they are silent all around. So what can you do about it? They are silent. And the tired whale is resting, resting, breathing, her eyes are closed. And suddenly ha-ha (loon. - E. B.) the voice gives: "Let me go for land, for moss." And then everyone started laughing. They fall back laughing. They laugh (That's why they laughed). And then she is small in the middle, and they look at her and then they start laughing and laughing. And they look where she was sitting, they just showed up the bubbles, she's already gone. Bubble bubbles come out on the fly. And so they're silent again, waiting for her to come, where she's gone, where she's gone, where she's little. And we waited a long, long time. Then we saw in the middle, from where she disappeared, and reappeared from that place. He breathes and breathes, his eyes are closed, but there is nothing on his beak, empty. And they started laughing and laughing again. And the fox pees laughing. She turned the fresh sea into a salty sea from scripture. And then again, ha-ha, while they're all around laughing, she's gone again. And we watched again - it was not there. Where did you go, where did you go? And they are silent, they are silent. They wait, wait, wait for him to appear. Then it appears - moss keeps on its beak. And she breathes so wearily, her eyes are red, her legs are like sticks like sticks. And she still has legs like sticks. He distributed all this moss to Kuthinyak and ordered all the animals, birds, insects: "Let's," he says, "get to work. We need to rebuild housing." Ga-ha left Kuthinyaku alone: "Don't do anything, you're tired, rest." And they started doing it all]: Batyanova 1995:219-222.

HQ began to walk on the ground, heat and fire splashed from under his feet, and the ground became firm. There were no trees at first. The first one created by HC was xopinl (Bursera hindsiana).
