A man swims away from the woman chasing him or walks away from her on a sledge; when she tries to grab hold of something, he cuts off her fingers. Usually a woman and/or severed fingers turn into aquatic animals. (The Warrau and the Eskimos first noticed a common motive by O. Cerries [Zerries 1954:346, 376]).
